It was a little extra distance, but allowed us to replenish diesel and water tanks. The harbour is 12’ plus deep inside a massive break wall. The village is looking a little down, but the library and post office are still operating, as is one of the restaurants and the general store.
The harbour includes a large Tanzer 26 population and a big old IOR boat named Aurora that should have been landfilled. The level of decay was depressing.
Now on the way up the St Mary’s River, we passed the old fort at St Joe Point, or so it says on the chart. Looked like it might be interesting if approached on land.
