We've done it before and we're doing it again, planning to head out for an extended cruise up the Lakes. Last time was in 2005 and we did a thorough tour of Georgian Bay. For 2012 we're hoping to get into Lake Michigan and maybe Lake Superior as well.
Last time I kept up a running commentary by sending emails and photos when I could, and when the connectivity was available I even put some of that material into crude html. If connectivity has improved, then maybe there'll be a running blog here.
Right now it's still below freezing and there's no sailing, despite the open water. In the bar at Kingston Yacht Club this afternoon Ross Cameron encouraged me to take enough notes and photos to share with others in a slide show when we get back. I suggested that there were new fangled ways the club might try if we wanted to keep members up to date on the where's and what's of each others' sailing seasons.
